The National Operators Group consists of informal meetings of the Chief Executives / Managing Directors of the major national parking operators, with the aim of discussing broad industry issues in a ‘cross party’ way and agreeing action as appropriate. Where necessary, the Group acts as a forum for lobbying on behalf of the profession.
Chair: Les Knight - Euro Car Parks Limited.
Both the Chair and one other member (Joanne Cooper of NCP) are elected to the BPA Council of Representatives.
The group informs the BPA of its views on current issues in order to help the Association with its external communications role on behalf of the parking profession, providing guidance on how the BPA can support national operators.
Discussions are confidential and are held under ‘Chatham House Rules’, although press announcements may be made from time to time and by agreement. Issues are escalated through the Chair to the BPA Council of Representatives, as appropriate.
Typically, three meetings are held annually, each one hosted by one of the companies in turn. The format of each meeting consists of:
- Presentations on key topics of the moment;
- A meeting with Agenda (a whole meeting of up to two hours' duration).
Currently, the following companies have been invited to attend, through their Chief Executive or Managing Director:
- APCOA Parking (UK) Ltd
- Euro Car Parks Limited
- NCP Limited
- Q-Park Limited
- Vinci Park Services UK Ltd
- Meteor Parking Limited
- ParkingEye Ltd
- NSL Limited
