BPA Holds First Ever Scottish Event

On 2 June 2004 the BPA repeated their Spring Seminar programme for that year, The Decriminalised Decade, in Scotland. The event took place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, with delegates in attendance from Scotland, the North of England and Northern Ireland. In addition, eight companies supported the event as exhibitors.

Proceedings were opened by Alan Clark who expressed his thanks to our colleagues in Scotland for their warm welcome. Speakers from the London event had made the journey to Glasgow to deliver their papers again. In addition Hazel Blair from the Scottish Parking Adjudication Service gave a very entertaining and enlightening presentation on adjudication issues north of the border.

This was the first event the BPA had ever staged in Scotland and due to its success, and the positive feedback received, became the first of many. It followed the formation of the BPA's Scottish Group (now known as Parking Scotland) on 28 April that year.
